When the Voice Convicts
God has a voice. He uses that voice to speak to men and women about a plethora of various issues concerning their lives and His will. One of the major areas about which God speaks is sin. Since the resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus, when the voice of God speaks of sin, it is the Holy Spirit speaking words of conviction. It is one of His primary missions. In this mission, the Spirit speaks to all human beings both Christians and non-Christians, but He does so in very distinct ways.
When a Christian sins, the Holy Spirit will confront that individual with conviction. Learning to recognize that convicting voice is critically important, for other voices will attempt to speak at the same moment with the hope of condemning the Christian and driving them away from the love and forgiveness of God.
